Cost Estimator, Journeyman
As a Cost Estimator, Journeyman your duties include, but are not limited to:
- Use routine cost estimating methods such as analogy, engineering or scientific methodology, and extrapolation.
- Use cost estimating outputs to assess the impact various factors have on the costs to design, research, develop, operate, maintain, and dispose of a particular weapon system.
- Select the most appropriate phase of the budgetary cycle (planning, programming, justification, or execution) for initiating new programs.
- Analyze all elements affecting costs for a project of limited scope.
- Analyze contractor financial data using EVM measures of merit to determine program viability with regard to cost and schedule performance.
- Use the ACEIT Tool Suite to perform all program office estimates (mandatory for BES Directorate positions).
- Perform analytical processes, including:
- Setting up the problem
- Conducting background research
- Collecting and reducing data
- Displaying data for analysis
- Formulating mathematical expressions
- Drawing conclusions
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a related field and at least three years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, three of which must be in the DoW, OR
- Seven years of directly related experience with proper certifications, five of which must be in the DoW.
- Knowledge, experience, and ability to perform tasks related to the technical/professional discipline; works independently and applies proper procedures and processes.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting ability to develop successful outcomes within established program/project guidelines; works independently or under senior oversight.
- Experience using the Automated Cost Estimating and Integrated Tool (ACEIT) Suite — Required.
- Experience building and communicating Program Office Estimates (POEs) — Required.
- Must possess and maintain a T1/NACI security clearance.
