Dayton Physicians Network is looking to add a Pharmacy Technician to our organization!

The Pharmacy Technician manages inventory and maintains detailed documentation in compliance with established procedures as well as federal and state regulations. This position is also responsible for performing activities necessary for distributing oral medications, including monitoring inventory and maintaining detailed documentation in compliance with established procedures as well as federal and state regulations.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs duties required for the proper preparation and dispensation of hazardous and non-hazardous products used in the ambulatory setting;
  • Properly dispose of materials used when preparing hazardous and non-hazardous drugs;
  • Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
  • Inventory medications, maintain records and order drugs as needed, receive and stock products;
  • Ensure appropriate record keeping within dispensing software and controlled substances log;
  • Work with payers to obtain prior authorizations as necessary;
  • Check for outdated items;
  • Maintain and monitor clean environment as per state and federal regulations and DPN policies and procedures;
  • Follow all health care privacy and safety rules and adheres to Dayton Physicians Core Values;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Not applicable

Required Education and/ or Experience
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a pharmacy setting
  • Certified with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
  • Licensed with the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy
  • Knowledge of basic pharmacy practices and procedures, knowledge of medications and medical supplies, strong mathematical computation skills and great attention to detail.
General Skill Requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience working with a Practice Management system.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position to provide excellent customer service to both our internal and external stakeholders.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use hands to assist patients, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
