Responsibilities & Requirements

The Quality Manager assists with all quality and infection control‑related activities within Kettering Health. Directs the efforts of performance improvement initiatives to ensure overall compliance with regulatory standards. Works with clinicians and administrators to improve overall patient safety. Assists in coordination of the infection control program, which includes surveillance, analysis, and reporting of data. Provides consultation and education to staff and physicians in Quality, Infection Prevention, and Control.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
  • RN degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelor’s Degree required;
    Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical acute care
  • Minimum 2 years in Infection Prevention and/or Quality Management preferred
Required Licenses
  • Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) within 2 years of hire
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations and critical analysis skills as evidenced by previous experience
  • Knowledge of current health care practices as they relate to prevention of disease transmission
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and good judgment in a self‑directed role
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary
Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with leadership and staff to promote a culture of patient safety and adherence to national best practice standards
  • Assist with ongoing employee education regarding infection control
  • Perform surveillance activities
  • Implement prevention & control measures in response to a suspected or known bioterrorism‑related outbreak
  • Complete specific audits that promote high quality care to all patients and reduce the risk of infection for employees and patients
  • Act as patient advocate for delivery of safe care, including participation in practice improvement activities, using organizational resources
  • Support ongoing quality metrics, including responding to unanticipated outcomes, meeting with staff involved in the situation, scheduling/planning meetings, reviewing medical records, documenting meeting minutes, tracking outcomes and process improvements, and trending results
  • Work closely with Accreditation, Regulatory, Patient Relations and Director of Clinical Quality
