Responsibilities & RequirementsThe Occupational Therapist is a licensed professional who evaluates and treats patients in accordance with state and national practice acts. In cooperation with the referral source, provides therapy evaluation to determine the extent of the symptoms and/or functional limitations relevant to the diagnosis. Develops treatment plan that is targeted and adjusted to decrease or eliminate the symptoms and functional limitations.

- Graduation from an accredited school of occupational therapy required.
- Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate required.
- Occupational Therapist in Ohio, United States.
- Must be licensed by the State of Ohio.
- NBCOT Registration Preferred
- CPR certified.
- Ability to evaluate, formulate plan of care, and perform therapy treatments in accordance with the established plan of care.
- Ability to delegate appropriate treatment activities to supportive personnel.
- Knowledge of and ability to use therapy equipment.
- Willingness to learn documentation in electronic medical record.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to multitask.
- Interprets medical history and performs a functional and comprehensive evaluation for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Establishes an appropriate treatment plan based on evaluation findings, the patient's individual goals, and current needs.
- Develops goals that are objective, measurable, realistic, and align with the patient's goals.
- Demonstrates sound clinical decisions and competence in implementing, modifying, and progressing therapy using evidence‑based techniques to meet individualized patient goals.
- Maintains a therapeutic relationship with patient, family, physician, and other caregivers; involves them in the treatment process as appropriate.
- Documents evaluations, treatment, progress notes, and discharge notes in a timely and accurate manner per KHN documentation policy; uses clear, concise language.
- Completes other required documentation such as daily charges and re‑certification letters for outpatients promptly and accurately.
- Ensures documentation meets standards of CMS, HFAP, and other regulatory agencies.
- Meets quality improvement and assurance standards of the department, including patient/family education and timely discharge notes per KHN policy.
- Maintains or exceeds acceptable level of productivity based on current departmental standards; prioritizes caseload and schedule based on patient acuity and departmental needs; assists co‑workers as needed.
- Accepts and completes assigned responsibilities and routine tasks in a timely manner.
- Pursues professional growth through literature review, participation in professional groups, in‑services, and continuing education.
- Provides clinical supervision of OT and/or OTA students, OTA staff, rehab aides, and volunteers.
- Relies on constructive suggestions and implements changes when needed.
- Works as a team member toward achieving department goals.
