Communications and Engagement Manager

Full‑Time Communications and Engagement Manager for the City of Kettering, responsible for hands‑on development, supervision, and management of all communication mediums with the community, including traditional and digital communications, marketing, public affairs, and media relations.

• Develop and supervise all printed and electronic publications.
• Manage City social media accounts and disseminate information to residents.
• Oversee City branding, promotions, and image.
• Coordinate preparation and distribution of media communiques regarding City services, projects, and policies.
• Implement public information projects and programs; direct multimedia programming and production activities.
• Carry out special communication projects.
• Act as staff liaison to boards, committees, groups, and councils on behalf of the City Manager.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in public administration, business management, journalism, mass media communications, or public relations.
• Degree in journalism, communications, English, public relations, public administration, or related field; equivalent experience and training acceptable.
• Advanced knowledge and abilities in mass communication, public speaking, and written communication; excellent editing skills.
• Knowledge of media relations, marketing, social media, graphic design, and urban administration.
• Skills in staff leadership, problem solving, event planning, and coordination of activities with other agencies.
• Experience overseeing website development and implementing comprehensive communication plans.

• Salary up to $134,534 annually.
