We’re looking for an Assembly Operator to assemble a variety of electrical fastening products and components using hands, machinery, or hand tools. The role requires adherence to work instructions and drawings, performing quality checks, and ensuring parts meet nVent’s world‑class quality standards.
Responsibilities- Work alone or with others to assemble, fill, kit, prepare, label, or package a product or component.
- Follow work instructions throughout the process, completing work based on specifications, drawings, job routings, and/or instructions.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to understand bussing requirements for switch gear systems.
- Install busbars within switch gear enclosures, ensuring accurate insulation, grounding, and secure connections.
- Select and move production materials as required.
- Maintain equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
- Meet established safety, quality, and performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
- Record accurate information on Manufacturing Order and perform transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
- Align with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S standards.
- Report adverse conditions, non‑conforming products or procedures, and 5S violations to the department leader following established processes.
- Adhere to department 5S standards daily and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow the protocol for handling critical issues and alert the team leader or other contacts when concerns arise involving safety, quality, equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.
- Demonstrate flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed.
- Participate actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of experience as an assembler (preferred).
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and understand instructions in manuals and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Compensation range: $14.80 – $27.50 per hour.
