* Job Description:
** The primary function of this position is to supervise school break camps and maintain effective relationships with staff, children, and parents. The Camp Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations, supervision, safety, and compliance of park rules and regulations, as well as maintaining and implementing camp programming. In addition, the Camp Supervisor will provide leadership in recreation, arts, and athletics.
** ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
*** Available for Summer Camp, special events, and occasional nights and weekends.
* Develops and implements daily activities, including games, team sports, arts and crafts, music, and life skills.
* Responsible for the safety and security of the summer camp area/site and reports any problems encountered to the Team Leader and Director.
* Communicates effectively with the parents/guardians and meets with them when needed.
* Assists with field trips and confirms the safety of children during transportation.
* Ensures staff provide guidance and coaching to the children, as necessary.
* Ensures there is an adequate inventory of program supplies.
* Ensures facility is left safe and sanitary before the end of each day (i.e., garbage is disposed of, or the facility is cleaned).
* Assists with the coordination of special events and recreation programs if needed.
* Suggests corrective action for problems encountered and ensures corrective actions are followed through.
* Maintains appropriate records (e.g., track campers’ attendance, accidents and/or incidents, etc.).
* Conducts onsite training as necessary.
* Performs other related job duties as assigned.
* In the event of special, emergency, or disaster situations, employee may be required to work schedules other than those for which they are regularly scheduled in any capacity deemed appropriate.
** QUALIFICATIONS

* Education and Experience:
** Associate's degree preferred, plus one (1) year minimum of prior related work experience or equivalent.
** Special
Qualifications:
** Must be CPR and First Aid certified or must gain certification within 30 days of employment at County expense. Strong creativity, socialization skills, and proficiency in oral and written communication are desired for the role. A valid Florida driver's license is required.
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
*** Ability to organize work around broad organizational goals and processes.
* Ability to perform specific clerical or manual tasks; some typical responsibilities may include copying, maintaining files, or entering data OR utilizing light mechanical equipment such as a vehicle, lawn mower, or hand tool OR cleaning and maintaining a facility.
* Ability to follow specific procedures that may result in interaction with co-workers, citizens, or other individuals.
* Ability to make decisions regarding own activities and priorities.
* Ability to work primarily alone.
** PHYSICAL DEMANDS
** The work is medium and requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
* Balancing:
Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. The amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
* Climbing:
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
* Crawling:
Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
* Crouching:
Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
* Feeling:
Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture, by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
* Grasping:
Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
* Handling:
Picking, holding, or otherwise working, primarily with the whole hand.
