Overview
Job Summary: The Marina Concierge Attendant is responsible for assisting members/guests with their immediate needs in a hospitable and friendly manner that exceeds expectations. This may include, but not limited to, giving information on the facility, products and services, assisting with reservations, recommending local attractions and collecting payments.
About Working in a Marina
The “Dream work is in the Team work!” As a Marina team member, you will be cross trained to perform a variety of tasks across our Marina operations. Being flexible and open to “pitching in” is an essential function of being part of the team. Most marina team members are multi-functional and perform many varied tasks. Especially during emergencies, (storms, floods, etc.)
or peak boating times, team members will be called upon to work together and perform functions that may be in addition to their normal job duties. “That’s not my Job”, is not within our Marina operations vocabulary. The more well-rounded the team member, the more opportunities to grow and be considered for future opportunities!
- Greet every guest/boater members & visitors with hospitality in a friendly, warm and courteous manner following Integra’s hospitality standards at all times.
- Answer the phone by the third ring in a friendly tone of voice and handle all phone inquiries per the company’s guest standards. Handle email inquiries in a timely and efficient manner and seek help if there are too many in the queue.
- Develop and maintain effective and friendly working relationships with staff, boaters, visitors and deal with conflict effectively, courteously, and tactfully.
- Respond to member questions regarding service department, ship store or other operational areas.
- Responsible for haul out and launch schedule.
- Accepting and reconciling daily cash, credit and check payments, and following up with past due balances.
- Follow safety and environmental rules and complete required related training in a timely manner.
- Communicate to management any incident with a guest or team member, immediately.
- Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area.
- Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
- All other duties as assigned, including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Experience with customer service or hospitality
- Boating skills preferred
- Strong computer skills / use of point of sales system
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable
- Great service attitude
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Attention to detail
- Ability to think outside the box and problem solve
- Eager to cross train and able to work well with others
- Able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
- Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
- Use of computer screen/monitor and manual dexterity to use office equipment
Marinas are opened seven days a week typically from morning to sunset. We strive to provide flexibility, whenever possible, and at the same time we must be able to maintain adequate staffing to meet the needs of our guests. Please note that working full or partial weekends is required.
