Description
This position is an instructional position with duties and responsibilities which are established in accordance with State Board of Education Rules and Board of Trustee policies. Teaching assignments will focus welding practices to include gas and electric welding. This position reports to the Director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education. All instructors are responsible for utilizing the College's learning management system as all College courses are at a minimum technology enhanced.

Job Duties:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to perform welding practices to industry standards to ensure safety of staff, students, facilities, and equipment.
- Knowledge and ability in these specific areas:
Oxy-Acetylene cutting, welding and brazing, Carbon Arc cutting, blueprint reading for welders, metallurgy, metal fabrication, and the following welding techniques: SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, PAC, FCAW, and metal corrosion. - Strong knowledge of welding safety standards and practices.
- Experience in instructing students of varying skill levels.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, Equal Access/Equal Opportunity.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and inwriting.
- Knowledge of College mission, policies, procedures, and services.
- Proficient in the use of technology.
Qualifications:
- High Schol diploma or equivalent required.
- Postsecondary training or certification in welding technology or a related field.
- Three (3) years' teaching experience is preferred.
- Three (3) years' work experience in field is preferred.
Licenses, Certifications or Registrations:
- A current AWS (American Welding Society) Certified Welder Certification is preferred.
- Certifications in any of the following preferred:
Oxy-Acetylene cutting, welding and brazing, carbon arc cutting, blueprint reading for welders, metallurgy, metal fabrication, and the following welding techniques: SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, PAC, FCAW, metal corrosion, CRAW, are preferred.
