About our School

The May Sands Montessori School has provided tuition-free education in the tropical island community of Key West, Florida, since 1998! Our school provides nurturing learning environments where students have the opportunity to reach their potential for intellectual, emotional, and physical growth.

May Sands Montessori School serves students in the Primary, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Early Secondary program levels.

As a Montessori public charter school, our instructional staff must meet eligibility standards for the position. Montessori teaching credentials, as well as a Florida Educator’s Certificate in Elementary Education (K-6), are requirements for the position. Prior experience leading inquisitive students in a Montessori environment is preferred.

The position begins in August 2026. Our typical class size is 18 students.

Placement on the salary schedule shall be based on verified years of teaching experience in the field. The base salary for novice Instructional Staff is $61,500. The school provides supplemental compensation for advanced degrees ($1,800) and Montessori credentials ($1,500).
