Job Description
Location:
Sigsbee Elementary/Middle Charter School, Key West, FL 33040 (Address: 939 Felton Rd Key West, FL 33040).
Position:
Teacher, Middle School Math (Grades 6th-8th) for the school year.
Start Date:
July 30, 2026.
Salary:
Base Salary ranges from $62,700 to $104,700, commensurate with experience. Living Allowance: $1,000 per month.
Public charter schools in Monroe County School District do not participate in Florida Retirement; they pay their own employees and have their own benefits.
Eligibility:
Florida certification is required. FL certification in Math 5-9 or Math 6-12 is a prerequisite for teaching in this field.
Qualifications:
- Out‑of‑state certification: if you hold an unexpired, out‑of‑state professional educator certificate in Math 5-9 or Math 6-12, please apply for Florida reciprocity.
- Math Major – Commonly accepted bachelor’s or higher degree majors for a temporary Florida educator certificate include:
- Middle Grades Mathematics
- Teaching Middle School Mathematics
- Junior High Mathematics
- Middle School Mathematics Education
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical/Aerospace, or Nuclear)
- Actuarial Science
Other majors:
To qualify, a passing score on the FTCE Subject Area Exam in Math 5-9 or Math 6-12 is required. Testing information available at
