Job Description
Sigsbee Charter School, located in Key West, is looking for the best candidate to fill a Lead Teacher position (K-2) and become a part of our amazing team for the school year.

Public charter schools in Monroe County School District do not participate in Florida Retirement. They pay their own employees and have their own benefits.

- Sigsbee's Living Allowance: $1,000 per month
- Retirement planning: 403B Plan (Not part of the Florida Retirement System)
- Leave:
Teachers earn a total of 7 days of paid leave per school year (5 sick days and 2 personal days).
Eligibility for Florida certification is required. FL certification in Elementary Education (Grades K-6) or Prekindergarten/Primary Education (age 3 through grade
3) is a prerequisite for teaching in this field. The Bureau of Educator Certification has developed instructional videos to guide applicants through the certification process, covering topics such as Florida's Online Educator Certification System Set-up and the Florida Teacher Certification Application. Commonly accepted bachelor's (or higher degree) majors for a Florida temporary educator certificate include:
Elementary Education 1-6, K-6, N/K-6, K-3, K-4, K-8, K-9, and Upper Elementary 4-6.
