Position: Teacher, Elementary

Grade Level: Kindergarten, First and Second Grade

School Year:

Start Date: July 30, 2026

Salary: Base Salary ranges from $62,700 to $104,700, commensurate with experience.

Living Allowance: $1,000 per month

Retirement Planning: 403B Plan (Not part of the Florida Retirement System)

Leave: Teachers earn a total of 7 days of paid leave per school year (5 sick days and 2 personal days).

Certification Requirements

Eligibility for Florida certification is required. Florida certification in Elementary Education (Grades K-6) or Prekindergarten/Primary Education (age 3 through grade
3) is a prerequisite for teaching in the field. The Bureau of Educator Certification has developed instructional videos to guide applicants through the certification process, covering topics such as Florida's Online Educator Certification System Set-up and the Florida Teacher Certification Application. How to Become FL Certified in Elementary Education (Grades K-6)
  • Out-of-State Certification:
    If you hold an unexpired, out-of-state, professional educator certificate in this subject area, please apply for Florida reciprocity.
  • Elem Ed Major:
    Commonly accepted bachelor's (or higher degree) majors for a Florida temporary educator certificate include:
    Elementary Education 1-6, K-6, N/K-6, K-3, K-4, K-8, K-9, and Upper Elementary 4-6.
How to become FL certified in Prekindergarten/Primary Education (age 3 through grade
3)
  • Out-of-State Certification:
    If you hold an unexpired, out-of-state, professional educator certificate in this subject area, please apply for Florida reciprocity.
  • Early Childhood Ed Major:
