Base Salary ranges from $62,700 to $104,700, commensurate with experience.

Eligibility for Florida CertificationEligibility for Florida certification is required. FL certification in English (grades 6-12) and ESOL Endorsement is a prerequisite for teaching in this field.

If you hold an unexpired, out-of-state, professional educator certificate in this subject area, please apply for Florida reciprocity. - English Major:
Commonly accepted bachelor’s (or higher) degree majors for a Florida temporary educator certificate include:
English, Literature (English), Creative Writing, Language Arts. - Other Majors:
For other degree majors, passing the FTCE Subject Area Exam in English 6-12 is required. Visit the testing website for further details. The English 6-12 subject area exam is divided into two sections: a multiple-choice section and a written performance section. You can split the sections into two appointments of one section each or take both sections in one appointment.
