VPK Lead Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic VPK Lead Teacher to lead our Pre-Kindergarten classroom at Stanley Switlik School. The ideal candidate will implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for 4 and 5-year-old children. You will work collaboratively with families, support staff, and district leadership to ensure a high-quality educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and curriculum aligned with Florida VPK standards
• Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports all learners
• Promote school readiness across all developmental domains (academic, social, emotional, physical)
• Supervise children at all times in the classroom, playground, and school settings
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation and records
• Collaborate with families, support staff, and administrators to support student success
• Prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized classroom environment
• Ensure compliance with VPK Standards, district policies, and safety regulations

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred or required depending on level)
• Meet Florida VPK lead instructor credential requirements (e.g., emergent literacy training/FL Standards training as required)
• Ability to pass background screening and health requirements for employment
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• Prior classroom experience in early childhood
