Job Summary
Floor Staff team members are classified based on individual theatre needs and/or employee availability as variable hour, part-time fixed, part-time regular, or full-time hourly employees. Their primary responsibility is ensuring guests receive exceptional service and they may be scheduled to work in the Box Office, Concession Stand, or as an Usher. Floor Staff must act as a representative of Regal in a way consistent with the company’s mission statement and policies, including regular and consistent attendance, handling emergency situations when called upon, general cleaning duties, and compliance with the company dress code.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Box Office- Operate the POS system, including accurate handling of cash drawer, credit cards, travelers’ checks, gift cards, redeemed discount tickets, passes, and coupons.
- Up-sell/suggestive sell Premium Viewing Experience (3D, RPX, IMAX).
- Promote the Regal Crown Club program.
- Ensure tickets are sold in accordance with the MPAA rating system and company policy.
- Respond to phone calls and questions from guests in a manner consistent with the guest service philosophy.
- Operate the POS system and maintain accurate cash drawer and credit card handling, including travelers’ checks, gift cards, and redemption of coupons, as well as concession stock inventory.
- Promote the Regal Crown Club program.
- Operate, prepare, and clean all concession related equipment.
- Up-sell/suggestive sell.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal food safety laws.
- Abide by all federal and state laws regarding breaks and/or meal periods.
- Ensure required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
- If the theatre sells alcohol, duties may include selling/serving alcohol; staff must meet legal age requirements and complete required state or local training.
- Read and understand training materials covering sexual harassment and discrimination.
- Open tickets, collect, and deposit appropriate stubs; direct patrons to their auditoriums.
- Inspect backpacks and packages when applicable.
- Manage crowd control and assist guests in finding seats when necessary.
- Enforce the MPAA rating system.
- Conduct in-theatre inspections to monitor picture and sound quality, watch for film and content theft, and maintain a safe quality environment.
- Report any problems, discrepancies, or unusual situations to management.
- Perform in-auditorium concession auxiliary sales as directed.
- Clean auditoriums after shows and maintain clean restrooms, lobby area, hallways, and other areas outside the auditorium.
- Monitor the cleanliness and operation of theatre vending equipment.
- Assist with all opening and closing duties as assigned by management.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
Education / Experience- Completion of the cast certification program as a cast member and as a box office cashier or progress toward completion.
- If the theatre sells alcohol, complete legally required state or local training and obtain the required certificate; complete the Regal Responsible Beverage Server training on Regal Online University.
- Possess good public speaking skills, listen effectively, and respond clearly and directly.
- Perform calculations with speed and accuracy, identify and correct errors.
- Identify problems, gather relevant data, and note possible causes; evaluate alternatives and reach conclusions based on evidence; take action beyond what is necessary; perform under pressure and/or opposition.
- Possess excellent communication skills with customers, co-workers, and management; establish goals, budget time, and set priorities to achieve desired objectives.
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaching with hands and arms; talking or hearing.
- Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Occasional lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
