Duties
* You will perform structural firefighting duties for a variety of facilities.
* You will participate in pre-fire planning by identifying new or existing hazards.
* You will operate a variety of firefighting equipment.
* You will perform hazard and risk assessment techniques in completing initial incident analysis.
* You will initiate established medical protocols in providing basic life support.
* You must have the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
* You will work 144 hours biweekly schedule. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
* This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current firefighter certifications.
* You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
* This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision
* Not have reached 37th birthday. This position is covered under a special retirement category. Qualifications GS-07:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire dept/brigade.
2) Performing rescue operations.
3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards.
4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents.
5) Driving and operating firefighting vehicles.
6) Performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures. Required
Certifications:
Firefighter I and II, Airport Firefighter (ARFF), HAZMAT Technician, National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) and CPR, HAZMAT Technician, Driver Operator Pumper, and Driver Operator ARFF. Must obtain and submit all certification requirements. GS-06:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department/brigade.
2) Preforming rescue operations as a team member.
3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards
4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents. Required
Certifications:
Firefighter I and II, CPR, HAZMAT Operations, Driver Operator Pumper. Airport Firefighter, Driver Operator ARFF, and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician will be required within one year of being hired. Copies of Certifications MUST be submitted with your application. GS-05:
