Government Operations Consultant II (DVOP/LVER)

This position serves as a Consolidated Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialist / Local Veterans' Employment Representative (LVER) and is responsible for assisting with the development of the service delivery strategies for veterans and educating partner staff with current employment initiatives and programs for veterans. This position will also provide outreach and facilitate placements to meet the employment needs of eligible veterans and eligible spouses entitled to benefits, in accordance with priorities as determined by the Federal Department of Labor.

This position confers with Management to assist in identifying improvement processes and develop solutions for the Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) program.

The incumbent will assure the local office is in compliance with Federal Regulations, standards of performance and contractual provisions of the grant agreement mandating special services for Veterans. You will assist in helping veterans and eligible spouses that have qualifying barriers to employment, obtain wages to be sufficient and sustainable through training and employment. The DVOP will work with veterans by using a case management framework to get them past their qualifying barriers to employment to work ready.

The LVER Government Operations Consultant II is a member of the Florida Commerce team with Career Source Southwest Florida. The Local Veteran Employment Representative (LVER) Government Operations Consultant II will work with Business Services to serve veterans that have been deemed work ready. The LVER will serve as an "advocate" when speaking with employers on behalf of a veteran. Florida Commerce is a fast-paced work environment in which critical thinking and prioritizing are a must.
