Human Resources Manager

A Human Resources Manager's responsibilities include assisting and coordinating the HR function at the hotel to attract, retain, develop and motivate Team Members in accordance with policies/procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, while limiting liabilities and promoting a safe, fair, positive work environment. Other duties include coaching, counseling, training, new hire orientations, benefit administration, maintain personnel files, complete payroll, and oversee all employee relations and labor related matters as they relate to federal and state laws.
Responsibilities include constantly greeting applicants and employees, handling incoming/outgoing phone calls, maintaining employee personnel files for active and terminated, maintaining I-9 compliance, keeping current, maintaining work area clean and organized, reporting all unsafe conditions immediately, assisting managers in lowering attrition, demonstrating positive leadership characteristics, abiding by hotel Affirmative Action program and monitoring compliance, administering company and property benefits programs, ensuring ACA compliance, assisting with all recruiting and employment efforts, maintaining applicant records and personnel files including medical and confidential files, performing in the capacity of any positions supervised, promoting employee empowerment, reporting all unsafe conditions immediately, selecting, training, supervising, developing, disciplining and counseling employees, copying materials and documents, monitoring Affirmative Action applicant flow logs, screening applicants, setting up new employee personnel files, typing, drafting, and editing written correspondence, arranging uniforms for employees to company standards, completing other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training, faxing documents, filing paperwork, ordering office supplies, preparing orientation packets, receiving incoming uniform order and placing into stock, training employees in uniform care, attending mandatory meetings, maintaining office supply inventories, conducting orientation and training activities, facilitating the resolution of employee relations issues, identifying useful labor markets/sources and maintaining ready supply to meet hotel needs, administering compensation policy within Davidson and hotel guidelines, completing monthly turnover and manpower reports as applicable, conducting management training programs as applicable, developing employee recognition, incentive and other workforce campaigns, identifying and recommending solutions to management team, processing/distributing payroll, issuing employee lockers and/or locks, processing nametag requests, assisting in the planning of social events, and monitoring employee incentive programs.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree or 4 years equivalent experience, business communication skills, read, write and speak English fluently, public speaking experience, working knowledge of word processing software, one year's experience in service related field, ability to deal with diversified workforce, ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees, and type 55 wpm (corrected).
