SummaryThe ASD media specialist is a key member of a dynamic team serving the marketing and communication office and American School Dhahran. The position primarily produces a wide range of media (photography, video and graphics), edits as necessary, designs print‑ready artwork, manages ASD social media, and maintains close working relationships with the marketing and communication office, ASD teachers, administrators and other ISG media specialists.
Responsibilities- Show commitment to child protection and safety.
- Stay informed about school events and activities.
- Develop strong relationships with teachers, staff and the school culture.
- Manage ASD social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook) in alignment with ASD and ISG branding and Social Media Guidelines.
- Photograph and edit images using smartphone or DSLR equipment.
- Produce and implement daily social media content.
- Record, edit and produce high‑quality copy, photography, audio and video material.
- Write compelling copy to encourage engagement.
- Create graphics, illustrations, infographics and presentations.
- Post to social media feeds, stories, reels and videos per the marketing plan.
- Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and respond to urgent requests.
- Develop design briefs and work with designers to create graphics.
- Source and liaise with printers and manage production from conception to completion.
- Record monthly analytics for the ASD Instagram page.
- Recommend potential new social media channels.
- Cover after‑work or weekend events as needed.
- Set up a photo studio and take student and staff photos for the yearbook.
- Maintain communication with ASD principal, staff and admission team.
- Respond to queries received through social media professionally.
- Encourage and engage community interaction on social media.
- Work with district social media team to plan strategy and develop innovative content.
- Perform other duties assigned by the marketing and communication manager.
- Set up and conduct live streams for special events.
- Conduct school tours as needed.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Excellent knowledge of social media usage.
- Experience and knowledge of graphic design concepts.
- Experience in photography (mandatory).
- Experience in social media management.
- Experience with Canva.
- Graphic design experience.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially photo editing.
- Photography skills.
- Strong creative competence.
- Excellent command of English and Arabic, written and oral.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills with students, parents and colleagues.
- Highly‑developed organizational skills.
- Problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
