We are currently partnering with a prominent healthcare business to appoint a Head of Market Access & KAM Head for Saudi Arabia. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping access strategy across key public sector accounts, driving formulary wins, strengthening partnerships with government stakeholders, and ensuring commercial priorities are translated into sustainable access outcomes across multiple therapy areas.
What You’ll be Doing…- Lead, develop, and inspire a high performing market access team, creating clear direction, accountability, and a strong performance culture.
- Set the strategic agenda for public sector access across Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Oman, ensuring alignment with affiliate priorities and brand objectives.
- Drive successful formulary inclusion across priority government institutions and public accounts to support growth, patient reach, and long term market expansion.
- Guide the team on complex stakeholder engagement, account planning, and negotiation strategies with payers, procurement bodies, and policy influencers.
- Build and maintain senior relationships with key external stakeholders including health authorities, reimbursement bodies, tender committees, clinical pharmacists, and other public sector decision makers.
- Navigate healthcare policy changes and reimbursement dynamics, identifying risks and opportunities and adjusting access plans accordingly.
- Partner closely with cross functional teams across commercial, medical, marketing, regulatory, and finance to ensure an integrated approach to access and execution.
- Oversee forecasting, account performance tracking, and monthly business reviews, ensuring robust assumptions and accurate reporting to leadership.
- Lead commercial discussions with major public sector entities and develop mitigation plans for access barriers, formulary threats, or competitive challenges.
- Shape tailored access strategies for different therapeutic areas, ensuring strong value communication and customer specific engagement plans.
- 8+ years of experience within pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or a related life sciences environment.
- Strong leadership experience in market access, key account management, pricing, reimbursement, or public sector commercial roles.
- Proven track record of working with government stakeholders, payers, and public health institutions across the Gulf region.
- Deep understanding of formulary processes, healthcare systems, and market access pathways within Saudi Arabia.
- Commercially minded with strong analytical, forecasting, and negotiation skills.
- Confident leading cross functional collaboration and influencing senior stakeholders internally and externally.
- Experience managing and developing teams, with the ability to coach others and build future leaders.
- Strong communication skills in English. Arabic would be considered an advantage.
