Solar Technician

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site assessments to determine optimal solar panel placement and system design based on energy needs and site conditions
• Install solar panels, racking systems, inverters, and other electrical components ensuring adherence to safety protocols and building codes
• Perform electrical wiring and connections including AC and DC circuits ensuring proper grounding and voltage levels
• Troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions using diagnostic tools to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues
• Conduct routine maintenance and preventative checks including cleaning panels, inspecting wiring, and verifying system performance
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction
• Document all installations, maintenance, and repair activities including detailed records of work performed and materials used
• Educate customers on solar system operation, maintenance, and energy efficiency best practices
• Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Stay updated on industry advancements, emerging technologies, and changes in electrical codes and regulations

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associate's degree in a relevant field is preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in solar panel installation, maintenance, and repair
• Prior experience in the residential or commercial solar industry
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, wiring practices, and electrical codes (NEC)
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and team members
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
