Salary: $11,363 to $18,190 per month (EM-08)
ResponsibilitiesAdministers statewide engineering, architectural and related services of the Public Works Division under the jurisdiction of the State Comptroller, including land acquisition, planning, designing, project management, construction inspection, contracting, constructing and equipping facilities and improvements for State agencies, revising contemplated leases for office spaces, providing technical and analytical assistance to user agencies and performing other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience- Graduation with a bachelor’s degree from a school of engineering in an accredited college or university.
- Administrative, professional or technical experience involving the application and knowledge of the fundamental physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering including physics, chemistry, mathematics through integral calculus, statics, dynamics, strength of materials, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and engineering drawing.
- A combination of college training in engineering and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
- Graduation with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school or college of architecture or engineering, with a degree in architecture or architectural engineering.
- Four (4) years of successful and progressive experience in architecture demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the fundamental principles and theories of professional architecture.
- Four (4) years of either Engineering or Architectural Experience as described above.
- Two (2) years of experience supervising professional engineers or architects, including training subordinates, coordinating and assigning workloads, evaluating performance, assisting in difficult and problem areas and maintaining high standards of work and timely accomplishment of work objectives.
- Two (2) years of professional engineering or architectural experience with active participation in planning (including budget planning and justification), organizing, staffing, policy formulation and implementation, directing a program and providing staff services or assistance.
- Valid Hawaii state certificate of registration as a professional engineer or architect.
- Valid driver’s license at the time of appointment.
