The Planner V conducts studies and prepares plans for the development of geographic areas, major areas of concern, public facilities, or activities on the Island of Oahu. The role involves fact-finding and analysis, coordinating input from multiple stakeholders, and developing comprehensive plans that consider social, economic, physical, and environmental factors. This position requires the full range of professional public planning work and involves advising agencies and administrators on planning concepts and presenting recommendations to decision-makers.
Keyqualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Three and one-half (3-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional planning experience
- Experience in collection and evaluation of physical, social, economic and environmental data
- Demonstrated ability to integrate information and develop policy options and alternatives
- Experience advising agencies and administrators on planning concepts and technical analyses
- Valid driver's license required for some positions at time of appointment
