HELE Customer Service Associate / Convenience Store Cashier

Salary Range: $18.50 - $24.15 per hour

Shift Differential Eligibility: $3.00 per shift

• Consistently provide prompt and courteous customer service; may assist customers at the gas pump.
• Accurately ring up all sales on POS system and comply with all cash handling procedures.
• Responsible for all cash and other forms of tender, e.g., coupons, credit card transactions.
• Comply with company policies and store procedures, including safety and environmental policies.
• Responsible for receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise.
• Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits.
• Participate in all safety programs and trainings; attend mandatory job‑related meetings and trainings as needed.
• Perform cleaning duties to maintain site cleanliness inside and out and basic upkeep of equipment.
• Assist with identifying equipment problems and report as needed.
• Perform all duties with minimal supervision and may be required to work flexible hours, attend job‑related meetings, and other duties as assigned.

• Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
• Ability to see with 20/40 vision (corrective lenses acceptable) to see numbers on store inventory, items purchased, gas pumps, and related issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to follow safety procedures (e.g., respond to safety alarms, contact 911 for emergencies).
• Frequent reaching overhead, gripping, wrist movements, and finger dexterity required for restocking inventory, packaging items, operating POS, receiving payments, issuing change, operating gas pumps, wiping pumps, maintaining store grounds, and housekeeping.
• Frequent squatting and kneeling required for obtaining and/or replenishing items.
• Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds while using a hand‑truck.
• Frequent lifting of 20 pounds or less from floor to waist, overhead, and carrying a short distance.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb a stepladder to stock or retrieve materials and/or remove signs.

May involve exposure to gas fumes and solvents, and occasional noise.

To meet the basic qualifications for this role you must be at least 21 years of age and have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in retail sales and handling cash preferred.
• Perform basic math accurately.
• Ability to communicate in English (oral and written), including telephone communication skills.
• Ability to work various shifts as scheduled, and arrive on time.
• Ability to work with equipment, tools, and materials as required.
• Ability to perform essential duties and work in the conditions described.
