Overview

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) role is a development‑focused position designed to prepare candidates for a CVS Store Manager position. The program runs over 16 weeks, combining virtual training and on‑the‑job learning.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to support and lead your store team.
  • Perform customer care duties to maintain high service levels.
  • Execute merchandising strategies to support sales growth.
  • Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
  • Actively engage with your District Leader and other mentors in key learning experiences.
  • Support your store as a management team member and lead in a manner that is consistent with CVS values and policies.
  • Engage colleagues in support of the company’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
  • Be willing to accept promotion roles within your market.
Qualifications
  • Willingness to accept a Store Manager promotion at any location in the designated market.
  • Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the market.
  • Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
  • High school diploma or GED (required); a bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Relevant retail management or CVS Supervisor experience.
  • A four‑year college degree is preferred, or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Pay Range: $18.50 – $28.67 per hour (based on experience, education, geography, and other factors).
