Salary

This is a full-time, twelve (12) month position at 232 days with a salary range from $44,606.00 to $48,740.00. This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon grant renewal.

Job Summary (Primary Purpose)
  • Provide training and technical assistance to ESC Region 13 clients in the use of assistive technology.
  • Curate online library collections.
  • Maintain Assistive Technology Preview Center (ATPC) equipment and organization for client access.
  • Purchase, catalog, check-out & track equipment for loans to LEAs.
  • Assist specialists in Special Education department.
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Education/Certificates)

High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Education/Certificates)
  • Five years of experience in program/project administration or five years' experience in clerical word/data processing using a computer.
  • Experience with online databases.
  • Experience with Assistive Technology.
  • Proficient skills in application software for PC
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Self-monitoring
  • Ability to handle numerous daily tasks with minimum supervision
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow
  • Ability to work with detailed assignments
  • Ability to maintain paper and electronic files
  • Ability to disseminate information in a clear and concise manner to internal and external clients

Major

Job Responsibilities /Essential Functions
  • Serve as a representative of the ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public
  • Collaborate with ESC Region 13 Education Specialists to provide technical assistance to external clients in the area of assistive technology and to accomplish the goals of the ATPC
  • Repair or arrange for repair of equipment in the ATPC
  • Maintain materials and online inventory for the ATPC
  • Curate online library collections
  • Research and purchase new equipment and instructional materials
  • Compile and disseminate data using spreadsheet and database software
  • Facilitate the operation of programs through client contact, meeting, facilities and travel arrangements, conference planning and registration for training activities
  • Develop, design and produce brochures, newsletters, flyers, and other desktop publishing documents
  • Understand and use ESC Region 13 internal systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • This is an onsite, in person position with the ability to work remotely one day per week up to four days per month.
Equipment Used
  • Various Assistive Technology Equipment
  • General office equipment, Windows computer and peripherals, audio visual equipment, and other equipment as requirements change.
  • Proficiency with PC computers to include desktop management, operations, and working on a network environment
  • Proficiency with standard functions of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proficiency with Canvas LMS, multimedia and editing software for the development of online courses and resources
  • General office equipment to include copiers, printers, and video-conferencing equipment
  • Using the assistive technology in the lab to troubleshoot, maintain, and update equipment
