Overview
At KILGORE ISD, we are seeking passionate and skilled individuals to join our team as part of our automotive services department. Responsibilities- Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:
Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on the school district's fleet of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards. This includes routine inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, brake adjustments, and engine troubleshooting. - Technical Expertise:
Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical issues, employing industry best practices to resolve them efficiently. Stay updated with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques to ensure high-quality service delivery. - Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and district regulations to provide a secure working environment. Ensure all repairs and maintenance tasks comply with state and federal safety standards. - Inventory Management:
Assist in managing inventory for automotive parts and supplies. Keep detailed records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules. - Collaboration and Communication:
Work collaboratively with other team members, including educators and administrative staff. Communicate effectively regarding vehicle status, necessary repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules. - Training and Mentorship:
Engage with students by providing guidance on automotive techniques and practices. Support educational initiatives by demonstrating repair procedures and explaining the functionality of different vehicle systems. - Problem Solving:
Quickly and efficiently troubleshoot vehicle issues, proposing practical solutions that minimize downtime. Utilize analytical skills to diagnose complex mechanical problems. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate documentation of all services performed. Ensure records are up-to-date and accessible for review and audits.
- Proven experience as an automotive service technician or mechanic.
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of automotive technology and repair processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and documentation requirements.
- Certification from a recognized automotive service excellence program is preferred.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
This position may involve working in various conditions, including heated or cooled garages and potentially outdoors. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects. The candidate should be prepared to work flexible hours to accommodate urgent repairs and maintenance schedules.
