K-5 Math - Curriculum Specialist

Job Summary:

Assist districts in increasing student achievement through the provision of staff development and technical assistance in the area of curriculum and assessment, data analysis, and instructional strategies in elementary math.

Qualifications:

Education/Training:

Bachelor's Degree or required license

Prefer Master's Degree in a related field

Experience:

At least 5 years of related experience.

Knowledge /

Skills:

Must be able to maintain emotional control under stress

Work with frequent interruptions; irregular hours

Major

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Create, write, and present research-based, data-driven staff development in K-5 math for Region 7 customers based on needs assessment data.

2. Provide technical assistance to Region 7 customers for the purpose of improving student performance.

3. Work collaboratively with all ESC staff in serving the customers of Region 7 ESC.

4. Demonstrate professional behavior in all interactions with ESC staff and customers.

5. Continue to achieve necessary competencies through professional development training.

6. Collaborate in designing and promoting the development of products that assist districts in increasing student achievement.

7. Attend and actively participate in ESC-required meetings.

8. Serve on the TEKS Resource Advisory Committee in Math

9. Adhere to ESC policies and procedures in the Region 7 ESC quality management system.

10. Provide training and technical assistance to support Region 7 TEKS Resource System districts and campuses.

11. Regular and reliable attendance.
