Part Time Instructor - Transportation Institute

The Kilgore College Workforce Development and Continuing Education (WDCE) department provides life-long learning opportunities for adults in the community. This is a part time position with instruction times varying depending on the course of instruction. Part-time instructor are added to the instructor pool and will instruct on a course-by-course basis as needed.

The successful applicant will be responsible for instructing short-term training in day-time, evening or weekend courses pertaining to obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver’s License. The specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Write/review course descriptions and learning outcomes.
• Build/supplement curriculum as needed.
• Provide instruction and ensure all elements of training are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Applicant must possess a current Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a tanker endorsement and at least five years of truck driving experience. The applicant will preferably possess a minimum of an associate’s degree and have training experience. Applicant must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; have effective presentation and computer skills; be well organized and thorough; be able to work well with little supervision;

demonstrate patience, teaching ability and listening and be able to deal professionally and courteously with a diverse student and employee population.
