Electrical Power Technology Instructors provide instruction in electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution systems according to industry standards and program curriculum. This involves delivering instructional materials, demonstrating proper techniques, evaluating student performance, and maintaining training labs and equipment. This position will include classroom instruction for onsite courses and hands-on skills training.
Position responsibilities:
- Teach basic and advanced electrical power technology courses, perform hands-on skills training, and assess students’ technical competencies.
- Train and educate future electrical power technicians.
- Evaluate and deliver instructional materials in accordance with program curriculum and safety standards.
- Demonstrate proper use of electrical testing equipment, safety protocols, and industry-standard practices.
- Help maintain training field, tools, and equipment.
- Serve as instructor for courses as needed.
- Assist with on-campus and off-campus electrical power technology instruction when necessary.
- Associate’s degree in Electrical Power Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant industry experience in power generation, transmission, or distribution systems.
- Industry-recognized certifications in electrical systems, safety (OSHA 10/30), or related areas are a plus.
- Experience in managing multiple projects.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software and Learning Management Systems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Skills and experience in public speaking preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Must have a flexible work schedule with occasional evening and/or weekend work hours.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Work is in the classroom and the training field.
- Work outside with students/ instructors.
- Some instruction may take place during inclement weather conditions.
- Lift up to 40 lbs.

Provide resources for safe operation of units. Create and support workplace safety.

- Compensation for this 12-month position is based on years of teaching at institutionsof higher education, and highest level of education. Base pay for no experience ranges from $55,240for an associate's degree to $68,169for a doctorate.
