Specialist
The DMAC Secondary Math or Science Specialist provides leadership, training, and technical assistance to help school districts improve student achievement and meet state accountability requirements, and uses high-level math knowledge to write items aligned with the state math learning standards. This role focuses on leveraging DMAC tools and data systems to promote data‑informed instructional practices and compliance with state and federal mandates.
ProgramSupport & Service Delivery
- Plan and deliver services to schools in support of continuous improvement and compliance with accountability intervention requirements.
- Support school districts in using technology and data systems to develop and implement data‑informed instructional practices.
- Respond to client inquiries, comments, and suggestions; provide timely and effective technical assistance as needed.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills are required.
- Plan, organize, and conduct DMAC workshops, demonstrations, and DMAC Partner Certification sessions independently and collaboratively with team members.
- Facilitate high‑quality professional learning experiences tailored to district and campus needs.
- Create original, rigorous assessment items for the TAG item bank that are free from bias and aligned to state standards.
- Develop Pre‑ and Post‑Assessment items for use in the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) process, particularly for higher‑level math courses.
- Conduct bias and sensitivity reviews to ensure fairness and inclusivity of assessment materials.
- Assess, review, and maintain content developed by DMAC and third‑party providers, including TCMPC and Bluebonnet resources.
- Market DMAC components and services through presentations at regional, state, and national conferences.
- Promote awareness and effective use of DMAC tools among educational stakeholders.
- Maintain current knowledge of education laws, rules, regulations, and Texas Education Agency (TEA) mandates.
- Ensure all services and materials align with state accountability systems and requirements.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization’s mission and goals.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred.
