Job Description YOUR DAY TO DAY
To set‑up, maintain, and perform a limited number of welding processes working with prints, specification sheets, and verbal instructions on generally routine production items under minimal supervision.
Machine and Equipment UsedHand tools, electric and gas welding equipment.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR- Weld aluminum metal components together with brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts and plant equipment
- Perform welding processes on aluminum parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys

- Must be able to pass aluminum welding certification tests
- Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding
- Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase size of metal parts
- Locate and repair cracks in products and equipment
- Maintain a clean work area
- Operate lathes, drill presses, mills, routers, grinding machines, duplicating, and profile machines, brakes and shears
- Determine layouts and weld parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications
- May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
- Train less experienced employees to build quality products within the time standard
- Participate in continuous improvement meetings and share knowledge for improvement actions
- Under minimal supervision, interpret drawings, sketches, and/or preliminary designs, and produce weldments from that interpretation
- Interact with employees and managers across the company
- May need to operate a vehicle or forklift
- Work done with minimal supervision
- Work may be done without established procedures
- Perform other duties as needed and assigned
- Must know shop mathematics through geometry
- Ability to read and interpret complex prints
- Good eye/hand coordination
- Basic computer skills
- Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must have the ability to follow safety practices
- Basic problem‑solving skills
- Ability to learn how to use necessary computer tools
- Visual attention to detail
- Reliable hand strength and manual dexterity
- Three (3) years directly related work experience or two (2) years of concentrated welding training
- High school Diploma or GED required, AA in welding
- Able to lift to a maximum of 25–40 lbs
- Able to sit/stand for long periods of time
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Salary Range: $22.00 – $26.00 / hour
