HOLT CAT in Kilgore, Texas is looking for an experienced Machinist for our heavy construction equipment shop. The Machinist performs all standard machining repairs on heavy equipment or components in a shop environment. Demonstrates a willingness to help in other areas when needed. Must be able to lay out tasks, read and interpret blueprints and technical publications, design and draw working sketches.

Must be able to perform Metal Spray procedures using wire processes - Required. Hours for this position are Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm. We are located at 3007 Maverick Drive, Kilgore, Texas 75662.

• Demonstrates well developed technical skills and performs most standard machine jobs and repairs
• Performs all types of machining operations to manufacture, modify, and repair machine parts, equipment, and components
• Lays out tasks, read and interpret blueprints and technical publications, design and draw working sketches
• Works as a member of a team to provide basic mechanical services that satisfies customer needs and achieves departmental goals
• Performs routine operational checks on repair work and functional parts of mechanical equipment and machinery
• Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
• Maintains all company equipment, tools, and work areas in a good, clean, and working order
• Act as a team leader on large projects
• Provides significant task and behavior-oriented supervision to other Machinists
• Provides assistance, coaching, and mentoring to other Machinists
• Prepares service reports and any other necessary paperwork
• Examines work pieces for defects to ensure conformance with specifications
• Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
• Actively participates in observations and safety meetings and encourages others to do the same
• Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
• Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Extensive knowledge on performing Metal Spray (thermal spray/metallizing) procedures using the wire process in order to rebuild worn surfaces
• Extensive knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
