Manufacturing Engineer, Electronics Technician
YOUR DAY TO DAY
To learn and perform basic, routine electronic, mechanical, or composite assembly tasks following specific quality specifications and procedural documentation and follow instructions given under direct supervision.
Cutters, skill saws, long nose and grip ring pliers, wire strippers, nut drivers, rivet guns, open and box end wrenches, luggers, screwdrivers, component bending tools, torches, vacuum equipment, RF induction heating equipment, cold test equipment, measuring calipers, voltmeters, electronic multimeter, heat guns, glue guns, tie wrap guns, crimpers, crimping machines, etc.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR- Performs highly specialized and very complex manufacturing or production project tasks/assignments of an advanced nature ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on these complex electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables
- Participates in concurrent design team
- Performs very complex state of the art advanced fabrication or inspection functions in a research, production or pre-production environment
- Builds or integrates complex hardware for prototypes, assemblies and large complex systems
- Builds complex RF, multi-function cables and harnesses
- Solders complex subassemblies to meet critical RF performance
- Reads and interprets very complex schematics and drawings
- Follows complex methods, techniques, and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, & cable harnessing on subassemblies and units
- Performs highly complex electrical tests
- Performs more complex rework and refurbishment of hardware and systems
- Performs complex incorporation of Master Change Order (MCO), Engineering Change Order (ECO), Variance Authorization (VA) and use of visual aids
- May conduct manufacturing inspections on processing line in accordance to quality specifications
- Organizes packing, movement and protection of finished product
- Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions
- Performs complicated fabrication and marking
- Maintains and operates complex equipment/tooling
- Performs complicated loading and configuring of customer/standard software on customer device
- Completes appropriate quality paperwork as required (e.g. Corrective Action Request, Discrepant Material Report etc.)
- Accurately completes process paperwork and entering data into the applicable work order management system
- Leads continuous improvement activities and participates in problem solving activities
- Leads by example in maintaining a clean and orderly work area
- Supports safety/housekeeping standards
- Mentors others as required and may delegate accordingly
- Contacts are primarily within immediate work unit, direct supervisor and the department
- Requires minimal supervision;
Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments
- Proficient manufacturing process skills
- Ability to interpret highly complex documents, work instructions, engineering change notices, test procedures and schematics
- Ability to write equipment programs
- Ability to organize multiple tasks
- Ability to operate complex equipment
- Proficient and effective communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work within a high-performance work team
- Proficient knowledge of statistics and SPC applications
- Proficient knowledge of configuration control procedures
- Proficient knowledge of measuring equipment and math
- Ability to use various computer software applications to analyze and manage data
- Ability to cross train team members in complex tasks
- Ability to lead team meetings and encourage participation
- Ability to act as a role model for appropriate skills and behaviors
- Ability to act as a liaison between other teams/functions
- Ability to exhibit adaptability/flexibility
- Ability to lift a minimum of 15 pounds
- This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a “U.S. Person” as defined under ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. Person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States;
or (iii) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 / hour
EducationRequired
Diploma or better.
PreferredAssociate Degree or better.
