The primary purpose of this position is to oversee daily operations of the City of Kilgore Pool, ensure high safety standards, manage employee scheduling and time reporting, manage training needs of staff and supervise all pool employees.
- Recognize and respond effectively in emergency situations by activating the Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
- Superviselifeguards and ensures lifeguards scan the pool area at all times
- Communicate and enforce all State and local city pool policies and rules in a personable and professional manner.
- Dress and appearance are consistent with City of Kilgore standards including wearing your swimsuit, lifeguard/manager shirt, whistle while on duty.
- Conduct pool inspections and complete pool chemical logs and report imbalances as required.
- Proper radio or phone protocol and response in a timely manner ,includes radio communication to the front desk, building managers, direct supervisors and/or 911.
- Record daily participation numbers, manage staff schedules and supervise staff daily cleaning assignments.
- Must be able to relieve operations duties when needed, not limited to but consisting of Concession, Bag Check, Cashier Office duties, and Lifeguard duties.
- Participate in and/or conduct regular in-service trainings.
- Provide a welcoming environment for all patrons.
- Document any incidents and/or injuries.
- Maintain a clean and tidy workspace
- Prepare and conduct swim lesson program
- Manage pool party bookings, swim passes and swim lesson registration
- Position will supervise all pool staff including lifeguards and cashiers
- Indoor/Outdoor
- Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights.
- Required to remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing or walking for various lengths of time.
- Must be able to lift minimum of 50lbs
- Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Required.
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED Certifications Required.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule to accommodate pool hours and events
- Must complete CPO (certified pool and spa) licensure, city provided
- Previous lifeguarding experience
- Management experience
- Cash handling experience
Work authorization/security clearance requirements;
Texas driver’s license, pass a drug screen & a background, physical.
