ENTRY-LEVEL COLLECTIONS AGENT (FULL-TIME)
Killeen, TX
Position OverviewAs an entry‑level collections agent, you will complete a two‑week professional recovery agent training and then resolve open consumer accounts. Your role involves using negotiation methodologies, maintaining trustful customer relationships, and ensuring timely payments to reach recovery goals.
Responsibilities- Use contact center technology and recovery strategies to locate parties involved in open accounts.
- Understand customers’ situations and identify suitable payment plans.
- Negotiate payment terms with empathy, tact, and professionalism.
- Make outbound and receive inbound calls according to script.
- Follow all required scripts, policies, and procedures.
- Respond to common challenges in collection calls and work toward resolving open accounts.
- Meet monthly goals and perform other assigned duties.
- Attend meetings and training; review new training material to stay current on program knowledge, systems, and processes.
- Adhere to attendance and work schedule requirements.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to type swiftly and accurately (20+ words per minute).
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Basic understanding of the Windows operating system.
- Highly reliable with the ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to evaluate, troubleshoot, and follow up on customer issues.
- Aptitude for conflict resolution, problem solving, and negotiation.
- Customer‑service oriented (empathetic, responsive, patient, and conscientious).
- Ability to multi‑task, stay focused, and self‑manage.
- Strong team orientation and customer focus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment where change and ambiguity are prevalent.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with team members and customers.
Starting compensation is based on experience. The position offers on‑the‑job paid training and a competitive pay structure. Physical RequirementsThis office‑based role is largely sedentary, requiring sitting, standing, and use of a computer and telephone headset. The employee will be required to move around the office, reach, lift up to 40 pounds, and operate standard office equipment such as a phone, copier, and printer.
