College Kids Aide

This job provides assistance to College for Kids instructors. Position will know procedures to achieve a positive learning environment for students and create a favorable work environment for the Continuing Education department.

Possess a high school diploma or GED or currently enrolled in high school or a documented home school program. Must be at least 16 years of age. For applicants with a high school diploma or GED:
Six months of wage-earning experience is required. For high school or home school students:
At least six months of experience, which may include volunteer work, school-based activities, or other non-wage-earning responsibilities demonstrating reliability and initiative required.

• Ability to maintain an effective classroom atmosphere with strong communication skills (clear instructions, active listening with children and parents)
• Ability to work under precise and exacting conditions.
• Ability to interact effectively with the public, students, faculty and college personnel.
• Ability to support students with varying learning needs
• Ability to assist instructors with lesson preparation and delivery

• Assist College for Kids instructors during classes by preparing materials, setting up activities, and supporting lesson delivery to ensure smooth instruction.
• Supervise children in classroom and activity settings to maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
• Support student engagement by encouraging participation, assisting with tasks, and providing guidance based on instructor direction
• Ensure safety and well-being of participants by following all safety protocols and responding appropriately to incidents or emergencies.
• Provide individual assistance to students who may need extra help understanding instructions or completing activities
• Deliver necessary supplies to the classroom and return them to the office as needed.
