This job requires instructional duties that are discipline specific for the Mathematics Department. Instructors will teach a maximum of 19.5 hours.
Adjunct Employment Details- Adjunct (part-time), semester-based employment with compensation based on course load and institutional pay schedule.
Master Degree with eighteen graduate hours in Mathematics.
Subject Areas Qualified To TeachContemporary Mathematics, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Statistics, Finite Math, Business Calculus, Pre Calculus, Calculus, and Linear Algebra.
One year teaching experience preferred.
Qualifications- Willingness to teach traditional, online & dual credit courses.
- Demonstrate a high level of verbal and writing skills as well as computational skills.
- Effective classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to teach subject matter through education, experience, and skills.
- Commitment to working with diverse and under prepared student populations.
- Ability to explain complex concepts in accessible ways.
- Knowledge of academic integrity standards and college-level expectations.
- Commitment to equity, access, and student success.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
- Experience using educational technology and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
- Must be efficient with using computers and learning various electronic systems such as Etrieve, Eagle Self Service and Blackboard.
- Teach the assigned course load and conduct classroom instruction at the highest possible level of efficiency and interest for students.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in compliance with college policies; submit certification rolls required by the Central Texas College Registrar office by submission due date.
- Utilize instructional technology and the learning management system (LMS) for course delivery and communication.
- Communicate regularly with students regarding course expectations, progress, and resources.
- Ensure that the general and specific objectives defined in the syllabus are accomplished.
- Prepare and administer examinations that cover all materials taught and provide prompt feedback on exam results.
- Perform other duties directed by the Department Chair of the Mathematics Department.
