This job performs general cashiering duties of moderate difficulty and high volume. This job collects, records, and deposits payments made to CTC, codes third-party sponsor codes to student accounts, and applies financial aid to student accounts. A high school diploma or GED required. Three years wage earning experience that includes at least one year as bookkeeper, cashier, or teller OR certification relevant trade school (30 college credits) and six months wage earning experience as bookkeeper, cashier, or teller.

  • Ability to handle and account for money on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrated data-entry skills with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.
  • Ability to proofread and verify data with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task.
  • Working knowledge of PC spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Ability to operate 10-key calculator by touch.
  • Performs general cashiering functions for the main campus Business Office to include: collecting funds from students and others, data-entry of all funds collected, data-entry of third party billing/waiver information, calculation and data-entry of refund information, calculating and preparing promissory notes for payment plans, analyzing student accounts, balancing and settlement of cash drawer daily.
  • Disburses and accounts for student financial aid funds to include analyzing financial aid student accounts and applying financial aid funds to amounts owed by students.
  • Answers inquiries from students and others by telephone, in person, or in written correspondence.
  • Files necessary documents used in the process of accounting for payments received or other transactions processed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or approved by the Business Office Supervisor.
