Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional looking for a role that offers both stability and the opportunity to lead? At Spherion Staffing in Temple, TX, we are seeking a dedicated Certified Public Accountant to join a collaborative and high-performing finance team.
In this role, you will do more than just manage numbers; you will serve as a vital contributor to the financial health of a major organization. You will work within a supportive environment that values professional growth, team cohesion, and the accuracy of their shared success.
Responsibilities- Financial Reporting:
Preparing monthly FLASH reports, quarterly Call Reports, and consolidated financial statements. - Month‑End Leadership:
Managing the month‑end closing process and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations completed by Staff Accountants. - Process Innovation:
Identifying opportunities to automate workflows and implementing new software procedures to keep the department efficient and compliant. - Regulatory Compliance:
Assisting with annual external audits and maintaining standards required by regulatory bodies such as the OCC, FDIC, and Federal Reserve. - Operational Oversight:
Managing property taxes and renditions for over 300 locations, while processing intercompany rebills and allocations. - Team
Collaboration:
Mentoring staff through cross‑training and participating in industry webinars to stay ahead of banking and accounting trends.
Working hours:
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a talent for report writing or ad hoc data analysis.
- An ability to remain organized while managing multiple deadlines and complex data sets.
- A willingness to travel occasionally to meet business needs and a desire to help teammates with daily tasks.
- Comfortable presenting financial findings and working alongside the Deputy Controller to streamline operations.
A Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience4-7 years
Qualifications- You must hold an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- Between three and eight years of professional accounting experience.
- A developed understanding of accounting principles and experience with automated accounting systems.
- Ability to pass a background investigation according to company policy.
