Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Full-Time Evenings)
Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.
Location: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple, TX
- Provide high‑quality emergency care for adult and pediatric patients.
- Work closely with ED Providers, Social Workers, and support teams.
- Participate in shared governance, department councils, and improvement initiatives.
- Build skills in Stroke and STEMI activations.
- Contribute to a team culture focused on improving ED experiences for all.
- Current Texas RN license or compact license.
- Previous Emergency Department experience preferred.
- Strong critical‑thinking skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑moving environment.
- Commitment to teamwork, patient safety, and excellent communication.

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
Essential Functions of the Role- Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
- Build therapeutic relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism with patients and families.
- Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members, empowering them with knowledge for better healthcare choices.
- Collaborate with colleagues and community to develop care plans, delegate tasks carefully, and follow up promptly.
- Use strategic problem‑solving, recognize limitations, and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care.
- Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth, and support peer development and community service.
- A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
- Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and patient privacy rights.
- Exceptional communication skills and social fluency.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, scheduling, payroll, EMR, and email.
- Graduated from an accredited RN program.
- RN license.
- BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of starting.
- 1 year of ER registered nurse experience required.
