Overview

General Position Summary

Produce sales gains by providing customer service. To meet or exceed Company Objectives in all individual statistics. Learn to provide consistent, documented appraisal of an associate’s sales performance. Provide support by giving feedback on areas of strength and opportunity while keeping in line with Company Objectives. Adhere to current visual guidelines including proper merchandising, signage and store cleanliness. Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the Dress Code Policy.

Lids Sports Group is the largest licensed sports retailer in North America, selling fan and fashion-oriented headwear and apparel across the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Australia. Operating out of Indianapolis, IN, our retail stores offer officially licensed headwear and apparel from collegiate and professional sports teams, plus top brands like Nike, New Era, Adidas, and Mitchell & Ness. Responsibilities
  • Produce sales gains, by providing excellent customer service and meeting or exceeding Company Objectives in all metrics.
  • Provide consistent, documented appraisal of an associate’s sales performance with feedback on strengths and opportunities aligned to Company Objectives.
  • Adhere to current visual guidelines, including proper merchandising, signage and store cleanliness.
  • Maintain a professional appearance consistent with Dress Code Policy.
  • Principle Duties And Responsibilities

    Generate Sales

  • Produce sales gains by providing customer service.
  • Meet or exceed Company Objectives in all individual statistics.
  • Provide consistent, documented appraisal of an associate’s sales performance with feedback on areas of strength and opportunity in line with Company Objectives.
  • Adhere to current visual guidelines including proper merchandising, signage and store cleanliness.
  • Maintain a professional appearance consistent with Dress Code Policy.
  • Control Expenses

  • Protect Company assets within guidelines of LIDS Retail policies.
  • Assist in preparation of store schedules that provide proper store coverage and are within wage control guidelines.
  • Follow policies to manage store inventory including receiving, transferring, price changes and product counts.
  • Perform proper documentation and record keeping per LIDS Retail policies and applicable laws.
  • Open and close the store per procedures in the Operations P&P Manual.
  • Support and adhere to all LIDS policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Additional Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Supervise Associates: participate in LIDS Training Programs, adhere to goals, and conduct regular follow-up.
  • Assist in recruiting and training store personnel on proper store operations and procedures.
  • Encourage compliance with company policies, safekeeping of inventory, funds and property.
  • Perform work of subordinates as needed and communicate with employees at all levels.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Job Required Knowledge & Skills

    • High school diploma or equivalent plus one year relative experience.
    • Ability to produce sales results while minimizing loss.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and clear verbal communication.
    • Ability to operate a computer and use relevant software.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to climb a ladder and work with hands overhead.
    • Standing required for up to 100% of the work time.
    • Ability to work unsupervised.

    Preferred Job Required Knowledge & Skills

    Assistant Store Managers can earn up to 25% above local minimum wage based on experience. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Assistant Store Managers PT may be eligible for monthly store sales bonuses and a 40% employee discount.
