Responsibilities- Lead all store‑wide shelf management, price image, and rotation initiatives.
- Manage the general Shelf Edge department functions, expanding responsibilities with higher classification.
- Become an owner in the company once eligible, demonstrating commitment, hard work, and a focus on quality and customer service.
- Use independent judgment to make employment‑related decisions or recommend such decisions regarding hiring, promotion, transfer, discipline, or reward.
- Collaborate with all departments, partners, management, and store leadership.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on total‑store Shelf Edge processes.
- Coach, train, and evaluate department partners as needed.
- Hold partners accountable for following SOPs.
- Monitor and manage the department budget and payroll.
- Maintain inventory and organization of Shelf Edge supplies and tools, including toner, tags, and coupon paper.
- Collaborate and interact with vendors and suppliers on related activities.
- Ensure accountability of Shelf Edge processes for the entire store in collaboration with Department Managers and Store Leaders.
- Coordinate and lead store‑executed shelf edge activities, including product, shelf, and merchandising changes per planograms, and submit required forms.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for product shelf assignment (PSA).
- Ensure PSA compliance during budgeted and scheduled activities.
- Maintain planogram integrity; collaborate with partners to execute scheduled activities.
- Update planograms, including store‑requested items based on the designated approval process.
- Maintain location labels store‑wide.
- Maintain compliance of floorplan and fixture integrity; collaborate on special requests.
- Execute discontinued product process per SOP.
- Ensure products are assigned to shelves (PSA) on displays as outlined by SOP.
- Ensure execution and accuracy of assigned marketing activities as outlined through tasks or communication.
- Manage hanging, pulling, printing, and replenishing coupons to support ad change processes.
- Ensure timely execution of daily received tags per SOP.
- Ensure maintenance and application functionality for department scales is performed daily throughout the store.
- Perform weekly audits to ensure ad accuracy.
- Assist in assessing accuracy of signs and pricing throughout the store on a weekly basis.
- Ensure compliance with all company regulations and standards for product freshness, food safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.
- Replace or order Shelf Edge fixtures for the total store to maintain appearance and safety.
- Provide or coach superior customer service focused on hospitality, answering customer questions and helping locate merchandise.
- Minimum age 18.
- 1+ years of experience in the Shelf Edge department or in management, or comparable retail experience.
- Completion of H‑E‑B School of Retail Management (SORM) training upon hire.
- Forklift or power jack training.
- Completion of all specified computer‑based training.
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, H‑E‑B systems, and designated conference‑call systems.
- Ability to supervise and train staff.
- Ability to communicate and influence all levels of partners effectively.
- Ability to adapt to stressful situations and make timely, effective decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks.
- Basic financial and mathematical skills related to store impact.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, reach, lift up to 20 lb routinely, and manage loads up to 65 lb as required, following safe‑lifting practices.
- Constantly stand, walk, reach at waist, overhead, shoulder, knee, or floor; bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel; climb stairs or ladder; pivot, twist; push/pull with arms; pinch; perform fine motor movements.
- Occasionally sit and may be exposed to loud noise, wet or cold conditions.
- Lift 20 lb and manage loads in excess of 65 lb as appropriate, within safe‑lifting limits.
