Paraeducator - Reading

Full-Time Reading Para educator at Killingly Memorial School

Full-time Para educator to work in an elementary setting to assist with reading instruction. Child Development Associate (CDA), associate degree, or Para-Pro certification required. An associate degree or higher and experience with reading instruction are strongly encouraged. Position is 32.5 hours per week, 10 months per year. Benefits. Starting $18.50 per hour.

* New hires will be placed at the appropriate step of the salary schedule by the Superintendent of Schools based upon experience, training, and unique skills; such placement decisions will not be arbitrary or capricious.

• Assist classroom teachers with reading instruction in elementary grades.
• Support students in developing reading skills and comprehension.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized instruction plans.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

• Child Development Associate (CDA) certification, associate degree, or Para-Pro certification.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Experience with reading instruction encouraged.
