Day Kimball Health is hiring a part-time (24-32 hour) Speech Language Pathologist to join our outpatient clinic in Danielson, CT. The role involves administering prescribed speech language therapy programs to help patients achieve their maximum functional potential.

• Evaluate and treat patients as prescribed by the referring physician.
• Plan and prepare written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data with realistic, objective, short- and long‑term goals and timelines.
• Instruct and assist patients to perform various activities, use of assistive/augmentative communication devices, oral exercises, and functional activities.
• Record initial evaluation, treatment, response, progress, and discharge information in patient’s order, including therapeutic exercise, language, swallowing, articulation, fluency, voice, cognitive, and aural rehabilitation programs to maximize independent communication and swallowing.
• Assess need and make recommendations for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, audiological and visual assessment.
• Educate patient, family and significant others regarding condition, treatment and home program.
• Routinely confer with physician and other practitioners in person, by phone, or in writing, regarding progress, regression or change of plan.

• Master's degree from an accredited program in Speech Language Pathology required.
• Connecticut license or Connecticut license eligible required.
• First‑year master’s degree graduate (clinical fellow year/CFY) will demonstrate successful intermittent evaluations by the State of Connecticut Department of Health Supervised Professional Experience Plan (SPE).
• The length of the supervised professional experience period shall be no longer than 12 months full‑time employment or 24 months part‑time.
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech‑Language Pathology required.
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.

• Uses common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick or handicapped.
• Understands technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books, manuals, and labels.
• Uses eyes, hands, fingers and oral motor movements with skill. Works fast and accurately in emergency situations.
• Communicates well with people when they are sick, handicapped or nervous.
• Identifies and acts on priorities for smooth department operation.
• Maintains discretion in handling the confidential nature of the information available.
