This experienced role focuses on both office and fieldwork to implement wildfire resiliency plans and coordinate safe burning operations. You’ll assist community wildfire planning efforts while ensuring compliance with provincial regulations. Candidates should excel in project management and client communications for a well-rounded approach to wildfire risk reduction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support project planning and execution, tracking key milestones
• Develop Community Wildfire Resiliency Plans (CWRPs)
• Coordinate prescribed and industrial burning operations
• Ensure compliance with regulations, maintaining necessary records
• Organize field team schedules, promoting safety culture
Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in wildfire management
• Post-secondary education in Forestry or related field
• Familiarity with burning operations and risk assessments
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and willingness to travel
Utilize your wildfire management skills to significantly impact community and forest health in British Columbia.
