About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Geological Advisor to provide expert geological guidance and interpretation for exploration and production activities, based in Kimberley. This senior role involves evaluating geological data, identifying prospective areas, and contributing to strategic reservoir development plans. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, offering critical insights that drive exploration success and resource maximization within the Northern Cape region.

This is a significant opportunity to influence geological strategy in the challenging Oil & Gas sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and interpret geological data, including seismic, well logs, and core samples.
  • Identify and assess potential hydrocarbon prospects and advise on exploration strategies.
  • Contribute to reservoir characterization and modeling efforts.
  • Provide geological input for well planning and drilling operations.
  • Collaborate with geophysicists and reservoir engineers to integrate geological models.
  • Stay abreast of geological advancements and industry trends.
  • Prepare geological reports and present findings to senior management and partners.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in exploration geology, with a strong focus on the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proven track record in prospect identification and evaluation.
  • Expertise in subsurface geological interpretation and mapping techniques.
  • Familiarity with geological modeling software.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience working within or knowledge of the geological context relevant to Kimberley.
