Geothermal Energy Geologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Geothermal Energy Geologist to join their exploration and development team in Kimberley . This role is central to identifying and assessing potential sites for geothermal energy extraction . You will conduct geological surveys, analyze subsurface data, and contribute to the design and implementation of exploration strategies. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate geoscientist to contribute to the advancement of sustainable energy solutions in the Northern Cape and play a significant role in unlocking South Africa's geothermal potential.

• Conduct geological field surveys and collect subsurface data relevant to geothermal resource assessment.
• Analyze geological, geophysical, and geochemical data to identify and characterize geothermal reservoirs.
• Develop geological models and interpretations to guide drilling and exploration programs.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and other specialists to optimize energy extraction strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, maps, and presentations on geological findings and project progress.
• Ensure exploration activities adhere to environmental regulations and best practices.

• Master's or PhD degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline, with a specialization in geothermal energy .
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in geological exploration, preferably within the geothermal energy sector .
• Proven expertise in subsurface data analysis, geological modeling, and interpretation techniques.
• Familiarity with exploration geophysics, drilling techniques, and well logging.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex geological datasets.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
