Senior Geoscientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Geoscientist to join their technical team in Kimberley . This pivotal role involves the interpretation and integration of geological and geophysical data to identify and evaluate hydrocarbon potential within exploration and development assets. You will work with advanced subsurface imaging technologies and play a key part in subsurface modeling and risk assessment for the Oil & Gas industry .

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of exploration workflows, and a proven ability to contribute to successful exploration campaigns. This position offers the chance to work on diverse geological plays within a well-established company.

• Interpret and analyze seismic, well log, and geological data to identify potential hydrocarbon plays and prospects.
• Develop and refine integrated geological models and subsurface interpretations.
• Perform geological risking and uncertainty assessments for exploration and development opportunities.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and other geoscientists to support field development planning.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for management and joint venture partners.
• Stay current with advancements in geoscience technologies and methodologies.

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in exploration geoscience , with a strong focus on seismic interpretation and geological modeling.
• Proficiency with industry-standard geoscience software (e.g., Petrel, Geo Graphix, Kingdom).
• Experience with prospect generation, play fairway analysis, and resource estimation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working in the Oil & Gas sector , preferably with exposure to projects in or near Kimberley .
